West Pennine Trucks added a seventh depot to its profolio in March 2004 with two technicians in a two bay workshop in Poynton. Due to rapid growth of its customer base; in January 2005 the decision was made to move to a bigger premises on Moss Lane, Macclesfield. On the 1st of February 2005 the doors opened and business began. Since then the Macclesfield Depot have continued to grow and now employ seven technicians, two of which are master technicians. All this is backed up by a fully stocked parts department.
The Depot opening hours are:-
Monday-Friday: 0700-1800 Saturday: 0700-1300 Sunday: Closed
Service Manager Steve Taylor comments,
"At Macclesfield we have a excellent team, always willing and that communicate well together. Although Scania is our speciality, we provide an excellent competitive aftersales service for all makes and models; vehicle or Trailer. Our other specialities are fabrication and mounting of specialist equipment and bodies on all makes and types of chassis."
The team's hard work and dedication was awarded in November 2005 when the depot was accredited with DOS status. Which involved the depot being assessed on the opererating standards, quality control procedures, tooling & workshop equipment, speed limiters, marketing materials and visual aesthetics.
