West Pennine Trucks delivers seven new Scania trucks to Richard Burbridge
Richard Burbridge are just taking delivery of seven new Scania ‘G series’ trucks from Scania Dealer, West Pennine Trucks.
The Oswestry timber firm opted for Scania and West Pennine Trucks, having previously used another truck manufacturer in recent years.
Richard Burbridge will use the new ‘G270’ 4x2 curtainsider’s for nationwide deliveries, as Brian McKay, Assistant Transport Manager explains;
“Our seventeen drivers deliver our timber products to up to thirty customers anywhere in the UK during a typical three day delivery, so it’s essential that our vehicles are reliable, efficient and comfortable to drive.”
The first of seven vehicles, which has been taken on a four year Repair & Maintenance contract, will be maintained at West Pennine Trucks Oswestry depot. The vehicle was handed over by West Pennine Trucks, Sales Executive Richard Barnes and will be on the road immediately as part of an ongoing strategy which, Steve Underhill, Chief Executive of Richard Burbidge explains;
“Market conditions have certainly been challenging recently, but we’re still investing in the future and are working towards a relocation within the Oswestry area. Delivering product on our own vehicles is valued highly by our customers and by investing in our fleet, we are meeting their requirements, which is essential for future success and growth of our business.”
