New fire engine at Telford
Shropshire Fire & Rescue have just taken delivery of their 15th fire engine chassis ie; a P314DB4X2MNB CP31 crew cab 310 Euro 4.
Shropshire Fire & Rescue took delivery of their first Scania chassis from West Pennine Trucks in 2006.
This Scania chassis has been fitted with a specialist body from body builder Emergency One. This includes features to assist fire crews, including a computer monitor and an automatic pump control. The driver can now operate the vehicle’s pre-set pumps thereby freeing up an extra firefighter for emergency duties.
Other new equipment on board, includes a positive pressured ventilation fan which clears smoke quickly to allow firefighters easier access into a burning building to rescue people trapped inside. County firefighters are currently being trained to use the new equipment.
This specialist Scania vehicle will be serviced and maintained at West Pennine Trucks, Telford depot and will work out of Telford Central Fire Station.
