The truck that was registered in 1986 was in very poor condition and needed extensive work to make it road worthy.
The project was over seen by Depot Manager, Darren Counsell but the majority of the work was carried out by Lloyd Counsell an 18 year old apprentice.
Work undertaken on the vehicle ranged from the brakes & wheel bearing being stripped, re-packed & re-lined to the rebuilding of the exhaust system.
There were also several panels, which had to be cut out and new ones made and welded back in. This as well as the aluminium catwalks and cab A frame which were also made and fitted by the apprentice.
Darren Counsell comments on the project,
"When this vehicle came in to our depot I knew this would be a project that would benefit an apprentice… because it is important for their growth to work on a wide range of vehicles from old to new."
