Distribution

Distribution vehicles often have a tough life. Frequent gearchanging and the continuous cycle of acceleration and braking in city traffic impose additional stress and strain in the powertrain. That’s why investment in Scania premium quality pays dividends in the long run.

The wide range of options for tractors and rigids are designed for multidrop, hub and regional distribution. The various axle configurations in combination with different powertrains and cabs make up a vast range of possibilities for optimising payload, performance and economy.

The power range for rigids extends from 230 to 420 hp, covering light-duty urban duties right through to high-performance drawbar units operating at maximum legal weights. Tractors start at 230 hp, going all the way to 420 hp.

Long-term reliability can be enhanced by an optional electronic clutch monitoring system that prolongs service life and ensures smooth and precise operation all day long, day in, day out. There is also the option to specify Scania Opticruise.

It’s likely that many of the goods you carry will be high value and fragile. So you’ll want the best possible protection for the cargo you are delivering to your customers. Improved air suspension systems available with all these trucks provide a very stable ride. Shocks from the road are comfortably absorbed, minimising the risk of damage to the cargo and reducing wear and tear on the vehicle.

Help with loading and unloading goods at the loading bay and at drop-off points is also quicker and easier. Level adjustments are accomplished with a single, all-in-one optional control unit that can be used outside the truck or while sitting in the driver’s seat.

Cab choice is also extensive, though the vast majority of distribution operators are likely to opt for a P cab, of which there are three types: a single-bunk sleeper, a spacious new day cab and a short cab.
