Scania is already offering Euro 5 engines!
For some truck operators, there may be a tax or road fee incentive to take two steps all the way to Euro 5.
For example, the German Maut incentives give discounts on certain motorway toll rates. The incentives will last all the way to 2009.
No need to wait!
Scania offers Euro 5 engines appropriate for most types of long-haulage in Europe: a 420 hp inline 6 and a 500 hp V8. This means you can start to benefit right away.
Consequently, Scania SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology developed for Euro 4 V8 engines is also being used to achieve the very low Euro 5 emission levels with the best possible economy.
The quest for even better economy.
However, well in time for mandatory Euro 5 in 2009, Scania will offer a new advanced Scania EGR solution. This will achieve a highly competitive optimised balance of performance, driveability and economy.
